Barbara Torlinska, PhD MSc (Med Stat)

Barbara has over 10 years’ experience in comparative effectiveness and epidemiology research. She has been working across a range of clinical areas including cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, and intensive care. Barbara’s main areas of interest are in outcomes research, Real-World Evidence and the development of natural history models using existing cohorts and registries, in particular the analysis of data obtained from large-scale linked electronic health records. She has authored multiple publications and poster presentations at conference proceedings.

Alongside her role as a statistician at Visible Analytics, she works in the Institute of Applied Health Research at University of Birmingham leading a comparative effectiveness research project using linked routinely collected datasets. Her previous roles include a statistician/research fellow at the Centre for Patient Reported Outcomes Research and at the Centre for Regulatory Science and Innovation, as well as a general methodologist at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Research Design Service.

Barbara holds a MSc in Medical Statistics with distinction (HTA pathway) from the University of Leicester and a PhD from the University of Birmingham.
