Associate Statistician, Statistician or Senior Statistician

Visible Analytics is an independent consultancy company specialising in health economics and Health Technology Assessment (HTA).

We are seeking a statistician (at Associate Statistician, Statistician, Senior Statistician level) to join our specialist analytics team. Our team undertakes analyses of clinical trials and observational/Real World Evidence (RWE) studies together with evidence syntheses in order to understand the value of new health technologies. Our research is frequently used to inform real world health care decisions including decision making at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a statistician to develop valuable HTA related analytic skills and experience working alongside experienced practitioners, such as Profs Keith Abrams and Neil Hawkins together with our network of academic partners, in this growing and often challenging area.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to, undertake or lead (depending on level and experience) statistical analyses for HTA projects, often using cutting edge approaches, e.g. adjustment for treatment switching in clinical trials, population-adjusted indirect comparisons. The outputs of this research may be stand-alone reports for clients or used to inform cost-effectiveness analyses conducted by the health economics team. The person recruited for this role will have the opportunity to undertake external training as well as mentoring and career-development opportunities from our senior scientists.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated about statistical aspects of HTA and be willing to support or lead (depending on level and experience) multiple projects with tasks varying project by project. Candidates will need to show evidence of a logical and systematic approach to their work, accuracy and attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This is a permanent, full time position (though part-time, minimum 60%, would be considered). The role will normally be UK-based in our Oxford office though at the moment it will involve home working. In normal circumstances UK and international travel may be required.

Informal enquiries are very welcome and can be directed to either Prof Keith Abrams (Email keith.abrams@visibleanalytics.co.uk) or Prof Neil Hawkins (Email neil.hawkins@visibleanalytics.co.uk).

General enquiries should be directed to careers@visibleanalytics.co.uk and further details about Visible Analytics can be found at; https://visibleanalytics.co.uk/

If you would like to apply, please send your CV and a covering letter to careers@visibleanalytics.co.uk

The closing date for applications is midnight on Wednesday 6th April 2022.
